Developments in RSE: Journey in Love: Spring 2023

The current programme for RSE is shown below.  As a school we are in a consultation process to adopt the Diocesan Model Policy and Scheme of Work called "Journey in Love". Once the consultation process is complete in the Spring Term 2023, we will be rolling out the new scheme for the Summer 2023.  We believe this new approach will build on what we have done in the past an enhance it.  It will help our children know more and remember more about how to live together in harmony in the love of Christ.

The draft new RSE policy is here:

There are some materials here to show the scheme and a presentation to help understand it:

The Current Provision for Relationship and Sex Education (RSE)

The Governors and senior staff in school have been working alongside a range of agencies, parents and Diocesan officials to develop resources for our Relationship and Sex Education programme.  This will be delivered in Year 2, Year 5 and Year 6.  There has been a great deal of consideration given to these resources and we firmly believe that they will help inform, education and protect our children and young people as we prepare them for live inside and outside of education.

HM Government have published the following advice for parents/carers of Children and Young People in relation to RSE:
