Reception/Foundation 2

We have two classes in Reception or Foundation 2. 

These are F2SN which is Miss Nicholson's class and F2GW which is Miss Wordsworth's class. 

Welcome to Reception!

We can't wait to welcome you all into our St Theresa's family.

Days in Reception are very busy and filled with so much play, learning and laughter

so there is lots to be excited about!

Reception 2020-2021

May 17th 2022

This week  we have been out on our school field having a fun jubilee forest schools lesson. The children made jubilee sticks, leaf bunting and royal necklaces.  They also used red, white and blue paint to do some Union Jack painting on a large sheet. It was amazing to see how independent the children were doing all the activities.  Well done everyone . 

May 19th 2022

Ethan and Monique from Catalan Football came to teach us Catalan football skills today! We had such fun learning the Toe Tap, the Penguin Side Step and The Scoop. We are going to practise our new skills at home and in school! 

May 3rd 2022

We are enjoying using our new Reading Nook. We have put in lots of stories about Princes and Princesses and lots of our other favourites too. It is so brilliant to see the children engaging with books they love and sharing them with their friends. 

April 27th 2022.

Today we had a Zog inspired Dress Up Day! We have started our topic of Proud Princesses, Noble Knights and Creepy Castles. We made crowns, shields, designed and built castles, created jewellery, made dragon masks and much more! We hope you like our Royal Pictures!  

April 8th 2022

Reception practised singing some lovely Spring songs and invited families to come and watch. We sang about Easter Bunnies, green frogs, Spring  chickens, blossoming flowers and we all made and wore Easter Bonnets. We raised money for the Good Shepherd fund to help others. 

March 31st Theatre Trip

F2 had a brilliant trip to see (by Julia Donaldson)  at West Yorkshire Playhouse today. We loved the story of Zog and the Flying Doctors and we thought it was very exciting when Princess Pearl was captured in the castle. Luckily there was a happy ending! We will be all ready to springboard our Royal topic after Easter! We weren’t allowed to take pictures of the play but we thoroughly enjoyed the journey into Leeds and then back to Crossgates on a double decker bus! 

March 23rd 2022

It was National Poetry Day on Monday and F2 are definitely poetry lovers! We hope you like our recital of "Oh Dear" by Michael Rosen.

March 9th 2022.

Our Voting Station.

We enjoy using our Voting Station in F2. Today we are voting for which book we prefer. The book that has the most votes posted on will be read at Story Time. I predict today’s book will be The Tiger who came for Tea! The votes will be counted and announced by Dylan this afternoon.

February 28th 2022.

Welcome back children! We have had an exciting day back after our half term holiday. We enjoyed sharing our  news with our teachers and friends!

It is Keeping Ourselves Safe week. We had an assembly this morning and Mr. Hutchinson talked about all the ways in which we can keep ourselves safe. We then chatted about our Golden Rules and how we can keep ourselves safe.

We have had a very busy day!
