 Toy Topic

In English we have used ‘Toy Story’ to inspire our writing.

Today we enjoyed making ‘Forky’ from Toy Story and then writing a set of instructions on how we made him.

Remembrance Day

Today we talked about the importance of the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month and why we wear poppies on this day to remember those that gave their lives to make the world a better place for us.

Science Week

Year 1 Local area walk to Crossgates

As part of our Geography Topic, 'Our Local Area', we walked into Crossgates to look at what makes up our local area. We saw lots of shops and services, as well as St Theresa's Church, where we bumped into our Parish Priest, Father Pat!  When we returned to school, we made maps of our walk and included some of the things we had seen.

Our Local Area & the UK

As part of our topic on 'Toys, Old and New', we spent the day at Abbey House Museum. We learned all about toys from the past and how they compare to the toys we have now.
