Admission to Main School:

The Initial Round of Admissions for Sept 2022 is NOW complete and offer letters were sent out in early April 2022.  We have now welcomed these children into school.  If you wish to be put on a waiting list for this Reception Class then please contact Mrs Parker in the school office.

However the policy and SIF for Sept 2023 are here for your consideration:

Application for places outside the initial round (Current F2/Reception and Years 1 – 6 inclusive for the academic year 2021-22)

If you wish to make application for a school place in any of our classes (i.e. not in the initial round of applications) then the process is slightly different. We would always advise you to contact the school office and ask for Mrs Clark and she will guide you through what you need to do. The school is always heavily subscribed and there are very few places available but this should not deter you from making an application. The procedure is as follows:

  1. If you are moving house/area and want to transfer to St Theresa’s from another school then you should approach your child’s current school and explain the situation; they will give you an In Year Common Preference Form which you complete and hand in to the staff at St Theresa’s. You will be asked to complete a SIF and produce evidence of Catholic Baptism is you are registering your child as a Baptised Catholic.
  2. If you are moving school because your child is unhappy and/or you are dis-satisfied with the education your child is currently receiving then you should approach your child’s current school in the first instance and resolve any issues that you have before seeking to move the child. If you have done this and you are still wanting to move schools then please contact Mrs Parker in the school office and she will explain the transfer process to you.

In all circumstances any available places will only be allocated using the over-subscription criteria from the Initial Admission Policy relating to the child’s year group. That is, the original Admissions Policy for when your child would have entered school with their potential peers in Reception/F2. The reason for this is clear; it is to make sure that the process of admission is entirely fair for all the pupils who have entered school (or been rejected in the past) by using the same policy statement.

This is slightly confusing but becomes clearer when you see the links below:
