Admission Arrangements:

If you are interested in applying for a place at St Theresa’s Catholic School then I would advise you to contact school and come and meet us!  We are very friendly and we will guide you through the admissions process.  Please ask for Mrs Clark who is the Business Manager who handles admission enquiries on behalf of the Governing Body.  The Board of Governors is the Admissions Authority at St Theresa’s and it is they who make decisions relating to all applications to the school. The defined area maps (above) show the defined area as described in the school’s Admissions Policies.

There are three pages on this tab.  Each explains how you apply to come to our school:

Initial Admissions Process for Reception: September 2023: open in Autumn Term 2022

This page explains fully how you apply to our school in the initial round of admissions for Reception for September 2023.  You will use this information if your child is 3-4 years old and will be 5 between September 2023 and August 2024.

In Year Transfer Requests: Admission to Main School (F2 – Y6):

This page explains fully how you go about applying for a place at St Theresa’s outside of the initial round of admissions.  This looks very complicated but isn’t really!  It is always best to contact school in these circumstances and talk to Mrs Clark and she will explain everything. There are usually two reasons for moving school; you have moved house or you are unhappy in your current school.  In both cases you must apply for an In-Year Common Preference Form and get this signed by your school’s Head Teacher.  We always advise that you speak to your current school before approaching us.

Admissions to Nursery:

This page explains how you apply for a place in our community Nursery.  We offer 30hour and fully flexible 15hr provision including before and after school care (wrap-around care) for our Nursery aged children.  This page explains how this can be accessed and who to contact for advice.  If you want to know more please contact school and ask for Mrs Childerson.

Admissions Appeals:

If you apply to the school and your application is unsuccessful then you have the right to appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel. The Governors will write to you in a timely manner and explain the appeal process to you in the letter. If you would like to appeal for a place at our school you must complete the appropriate Leeds City Council appeal form within 20 days of your letter of rejection. The forms can be found on LCC's appeals webpage: www.leeds.gov.uk/schoolappeals Completed appeal forms can either be e-mailed to education.appeals@leeds.gov.uk or posted to Leeds City Council, PO Box 837, Admissions, Leeds, LS1 9PZ. If you would like a paper copy of the form please contact Leeds City Council’s Admissions Team on 0113 222 4414.
