Welcome to the Admissions Page

Admission into Main School (Reception/F2 to Year 6)

If you are interested in applying for a place at St Theresa’s Catholic School then I would advise you to contact school and come and meet us!  We are very friendly and we will guide you through the admissions process.  Please ask for Mrs Parker who is the Business Manager who handles admission enquiries on behalf of the Governing Body.  The GB is the Admissions Authority at St Theresa’s and it is they who make decisions relating to all applications to the school.

However, before you come you into school you might want to have a look at the current Admissions Policy for September 2018 (link below) as this will help you to understand the process a little better.  This process begins in earnest in late September every year when application packs are sent out by Leeds City Council.  If you don’t receive one by October please contact school immediate

Admission Policy F2/Rec 2018 – 2019

SIF 2018 – 2019

This policy is for admission into F2/Reception for Sept 2018.  You MUST also complete the Supplementary Information Form (SIF) and submit that to school.

If you are not successful in your application then you have a right to appeal.  The right to appeal will have been sent to you when you got your admission letter from Leeds City Council.  The appeals timetable is set out below.  Please click on the link for details:

Admission Appeal Timetable 2015 onwards

There is lots of specific information about admission to our school on this website.  If you look at the pages to the right you should be able to find the specific information you require to answer your queries.  However, I think it is always best to contact school and ask for Mrs Parker (Main school) or Mrs Childerson (Nursery) and they will talk you through what you need to know.

In the case of your child applying to a year group that is deemed to be oversubscribed then the Governors will apply the oversubscription criteria as detailed in the relevant Admission Policy for your child’s year group.  Please refer therefore to the correct policy as detailed in the information to the right.

Admissions Policy 2018 – 19:

The Governing Body, through it’s Standards, Inclusion and Admissions Committee, will approve the Admissions Policy and Supplementary Information Form (SIF) for 2017 – 2018 in the Spring Term 2017.  The SIA Committee will meet and approve the Diocesan Model Policy amending it to fit perfectly with the requirements of St Theresa’s School. If you are looking for a place for your child in main school for September 2017 then this is the policy you need to adhere to.  The timescales for the implementation of this policy begin in Sept 2016.  If you have any queries then please contact school straight away.

The 2018-19 policy (including the revised Supplementary Information Form (SIF)):

This policy will appear very soon as will the SIF for 2018-2019.

Thank you for your interest in our school and good luck with your application; please do not hesitate to contact the school and ask for either Mrs Parker (Main School) or Mrs Childerson (Nursery) if you have any queries.  No matter how minor you imagine them to be, we will have heard them all before and we will be only too happy to help.

John Hutchinson,

Head; September 2017.
